She takes me so literally
Sometimes I forget that Mady may still take me literally and not understand what I'm saying. Tonight we were talking about all the things we are going to do tomorrow for Yan's birthday. In the list of things was "Go pick up Yan's cake". Later, I was going through the list with Yan and I skipped that part. Mady yelled, "Mama, don't forget we have to go fall down with the cake". It took me a while...I guess there had to be some reason why we were going to pick it up! :-)

I want to cry!
Last week I was in serious pain for a couple of days I told Mady that I was just ready to cry. She looked at me and informed me that if I would need to go to my bed if I was going to cry. Geesh...I only tell people that if they are throwing a fit. A little compassion for mama would be nice!
My sister!
I told Mady she couldn't do something she wanted to do. She replied with, "Well I'm going to talk to my sister!" Further proof that there is an alliance in this house that doesn't include me!

New Year
Very few things make me as giddy as a new pen and a fresh calendar. I LOVE to plan! In fact I love planning often more than the execution of the plan. Recently I sat down and looked at the year ahead. I caught myself planning this and that and even thought, "I'm so excited I don't even have to plan much for that stupid, pesky, cancer". And then I came to my senses. I pictured my Heavenly Father looking down at me and laughing saying, "Bless it, my sweet girl still thinks she controls things". In the grand scheme of things, I really don't control much. Here's hoping I can walk into a new year knowing that God, who sees much more than I do, is ultimately in control of my calendar and my life. Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Sneaky, Sneaky
The other day someone came to look at my van. When I walked outside my darling Yan Yan thought it would be funny to lock me out. Thankfully she came immediately and unlocked it (while she was laughing her head off). Then when I walked out again she helped herself to 1/3 of a cake that we had bought from New Years! I'm telling you for someone who is supposed to be "cognitively impaired", she sure manages to figure out what she wants
